The light at the End of the Tunnel

Since I last reported, the electrical fit-out is complete and my driveway has been poured.

I believe my ensuite vanity is in and some exterior painting has been done. On the down side, someone stole my front door!! The supplier is out of stock so another one won't be available for 2-4 weeks :(

I should be booked in for an inspection any day now. Fingers crossed!

CAAAAAAARRRPET and Render

This trip involved showing my parents that I am building. I didn't tell them because I wanted it to be a suprise. Yes I am a cheeky daughter!

So to my surprise all the carpet had been laid!I'm surpised that my parents didn't complain about all the black in the house lol
As per usual my son's head is in the pic :P He's actually playing with the door handle that had a red dot on it last week!

Ah the render, the colour turned out alright. I really was worried but it seems to work well.

A shot of the render with the garage closed.

Oh yes I failed to mention that no electrical fitout has been done! I was told that there is a slight delay. Talk about an understatement! So really the only thing left is that and the driveway... my REAL front door and clean up. I'm sure I have forgotten something oh yes the external painting and touch-ups.

Oops last week's update 15th May 2010

So last week when I checked out the house, not much had happened. Red dots to point out flaws were in the main living areas AND they started to render the garage.

Shots of the garage getting rendered.

I must say I began to think about the shade of blue I had chosen and was a little concerned that it would be horrible... Now what shade was that???

A nice shot of the bathtub, not sure if I have shown this previously, sorry if I have lol

A red dot on a door handle... Hmmmmmm

Visit from the Mario Bros

My visit to the house was actually worthwhile today. There had been a fair bit of progress since my last visit, so I am very pleased.

The plumbing has been done, so the toilets and showers/bath are complete. All the internal painting is now complete. They have also cleaned the bricks :)

Here I have tried to take a photo that shows the colour of the wall against the builder's white ceiling

ZIP!

I went to the house on Saturday expecting the painting to have been finished. Well they did NOTHING!! Oh sorry they closed the garage door... that's what they did. Took them a whole week to accomplish that. :(

I don't think I will be wasting my time and money driving down there next weekend. So I am going to try and hold off until Mother's Day weekend. Perhaps then I will have a nice present courtesy of the builder. :)

Locked and loaded

At last I see a front door. So now I am officially locked up.

Also, there has been some painting AND kitchen cabinets and vanities installed. WHOO HOO!!

Here we have a big gap in the entryway... yes a gap!

My ensuite vanity, not in it's final position yet.

The main bathroom

The laundry

The kitchen, looks better than I expected. Still will need to add overhead cupboards when I can afford to.

Not quite locked out

I was surprised to see so little work completed on the house since last week. I expected to see the kitchen in, but it hasn't even been delivered. There is a pallet of tiles sitting in the meals area and lots of skirting piled around the house.

Most of the internal doors appear to be in place, including closet doors. Architraves are up and that's about it. I won't be going there in a hurry seeing as everything is slow at the moment. I will wait till the long Easter weekend for my next trip.

A little work done at the front of the house, No front door though!!

I have downpipes

The bathtub

The shower base

And my plain closet doors cos I refused to pay extra just to have grooves in it. Grooves only collect dust anyway.

Brickies got plastered

After speaking to my CSO who said that 90% of the plaster was done, I had to see it to believe it. Well what do you know, she wasn't kidding.

So we have the side of the house with the garage

The back of the house... not sure why there are no bricks above the sliding door... If anyone can enlighten me, that would be much appreciated...

The front of the house, no front door yet, but lots of crap everywhere.

Looking at the kitchen/meals area... Little man walking through... he was choosing the cupboards as his bedroom lol

This is part of the master bedroom, it's still looking small. Oh well.

Bricking

Whoo Hoo, they have started the bricking. After a week of inactivity due to stolen lintels I find that approx 50% of the bricks have been laid.

The front of the house... Actually think the colour turned out fine... until that hideous render is put on around the garage door... what was I thinking???

The back of the house

The side of the house, looks like they are ready to do the top half. Of course we are in the middle of a storm at the moment... Please sunny weather as of Monday... PLEASE!!!!

I have a frame for the bathtub and a shower base

Insulation is about 90% done... I felt like popping that chunk right back in it's place

She was Wrapped in Plastic

So I was told that the bricks were completed. I am beginning to wonder whether my CSO is confusing my block with another!

Here is the truth!! It's wrapped and has a roof.

Inside Kitchen/Meals area. They have done some plumbing and electrical wiring.

My Blackwood bricks... Hmmm I thought they were more of a red. They look like chocolate.

Side of house, this is the Master bedroom/ensuite/Bedroom 1/bathroom/laundry/bedroom 2

Front of house

Front of house from another angle. I am actually glad that the Developer made me extend the portico further out, it adds a big more character to the house. I will have to save some money to convert the wooden posts into stacked stone.

Just Frames

I think this is the master bedroom... A bit cosy... hmmmm

Little man in the doorway

Slab and Frame Pics

So I have been told that my frame is now completed and that brickwork shoud commence soon. Mind you in Melbourne, we have had a massive storm so it would be interesting to see if they ever started laying bricks.
